When We Are Married
Set in the fictitious Yorkshire woollen town of Clecklewyke during the period 1908-1910, this hilarious story stems from the celebrations of the silver wedding anniversaries of three couples in the home of one of them, Alderman Hellewell. All seems well with these 'pillars of society', local dignitaries that they are, patting each other on the back and congratulating each other. Then it is discovered what really happened during the wedding ceremony 25 years previously, throwing the whole gathering into confusion and doubt.
