The Seagull
The play's setting is the estate of the wealthy Sorin where a group of family and friends are spending the languid summer months. Included in the party besides Sorin himself are his sister, the beautiful actress Madame Arkadina, her sensitive would-be writer son, the charming successful author Trigorin and the young idealistic aspiring actress Nina. And around these central figures, slipping in and out, are the steward of the estate, his wife and daughter, the schoolmaster and doctor.
The action concerns the interweaving of their lives with each other and all the romance, intrigue, hopes and disappointments that this leads to.
