The School for Scandal

'Such a crew.  Utterers of forged tales, carriers of scandal and clippers of reputation'.

This is the highly uncomplimentary manner in which Sir Peter Teazle describes the inmates of Sheridan's now famous 'school', which was a satirical comment upon high society of the 18th century.

But besides the scandalous school, there is also Sir Peter's troubles with his young wife,  his nephews and his ward.
