The Road to Mecca
A wonderfully eccentric old lady spends 15 years building fantastic sculptures in her back garden - much to the consternation of the local dignitaries. Responding to a plea for help, her young friend drives 800 miles in 12 hours to find the parish council, lead by their pastor, "wish to protect her from herself" by encouraging her to sign into the local old people's home.
Set in South Africa, the play concerns the differing views of this lady's two closest friends about how she should live out the rest of her life.
