Miss Julie

It is Midsummer Eve.  Miss Julie has chosen to stay at home with the servants rather than accompany her father to visit relations.  It is a decision she will regret as the evening progresses.  

Who is in control of events?  Miss Julie or Jean, the ambitious valet?  Miss Julie says 'Tonight we are ordinary people trying to be happy, and all rank is laid aside'.  However, the conflict between sexual passion and social position is overwhelming.
