The Light of Heart

Maddoc Thomas, a one-time prominent Shakespearian actor, has like many before him, fallen on hard times.  He is at present domiciled in a seedy and threadbare flat in London and even more regrettably, he has taken to drink to drown his sorrors.  However, his daughter and an old admirer from his former days, a Mrs. Lothian, still have great faith in him as a performer and through Mrs. Lothian's efforts Maddoc manages to land himself a plumb leading role in a forthcoming Shakespeare play.  Now perhaps comes the greatest challenge in his life.  Will he perform as well as he used to?  Will he overcome his addiction to drink and prove once more what a fine actor he can be?
