The Killing of Sister George
Described as a black comedy, Frank Marcus' award-winning play revolves around the bitter sweet relationship of June Buckridge, better known to her radio listeners as 'Sister George' and Childie, the wide-eyed waif with whom she shares her life. The crumbling of June's life when told that 'Sister George' is to be killed off (eliminated from the radio series) and the subsequent effect is has on her association with Childie provides a humorous and touching story.
