How The Other Half Loves

This play is an ingeniously and entertainingly constructed play and although often called a comedy, Alan Ayckbourn himself considered it a farce.  It concerns a trio of married couples and the single set, almost a character in itself, provides the living room for two of the couples all at the same time.  the furniture, and often the people, of the two places are intermingled with the action taking place at two dinner parties given on consecutive nights, but at the same time on stage.  The resultant visual misunderstandings prove to be hilarious entertainment.
