Habeas Corpus
Since first presented at the Lyric Theatre London in May 1973, Habeas Corpus has enjoyed enormous acclaim with audiences everywhere. This is in no small way because of its equally eminent author, Alan Bennett, whose name is now synonymous with satirical comedy at its best.
The play itself takes a zany look at a family of doctors in Hove. It pokes fun at the medical profession's serious view of itself, comments lightly on the fall of moral values and makes a number of suggestions about what is meant by the permissive society.
