Picture three women in a village bakery on a Saturday night in August;  a pregnant customer, frustrated and scared;  a stroppy assistant with nowhere else to go;  and the owner, with more to her past than pastry.  Three generations with the same hopes, fears and needs.  Often funny, sometimes spiteful - this is how friends really are.
