California Suite

This classic Neil Simon comedy is composed of four playlets whose action takes place in rooms 203 and 204 of the famous Beverly Hills Hotel, Los Angeles.  The author's favourite theme of marital conflict is developed and observed through:  the Warren's, a divorced couple from New York, meeting for the first time for several years to resolve custody of their teenage daughter; the Michael's, visiting from Philadelphia for their nephew's Bar Mitzvah, the husband trying to conceal from his wife that he has spent the night with a hooker;  the Nichol's, over from England for the Oscar ceremony; and finally, the Franklin's and the Hollanders, best friends who make the mistake of going on holiday together.
