Breaking the Silence

The place is Russia, the time 1920.  In the chaos of revolution, the aristocrat Nikolai has lost all his possessions and is forced with his wife, daughter and last remaining servant to make a new home in a derelict railway carriage.  The women's struggle to cope with this bewildering turn of events is at times funny, at others touching, but for Nikolai there is only one thing that matters:  his driving ambition to invent the first ever talking picture.  The odds against him are enormous, both inside and outside the carriage;  if he succeeds, will it be at the expense of his own family?
