Albert Make Us Laugh
Albert is a schoolboy in the Forties - or was it the Fifties - maybe it was yesterday! A boy who although backward, retarded, call it what you will, made up for his lack of academic attainment with the sheer joy of being alive.
The play contains all the joy, laughter, pain and sadness of growing up and follows Albert's years at school, telling us not only his story but also that of his mother, his uncle, his teachers, schoolmates and social workers, upon whom he has a profound and lasting effect. It also makes us question and consider accepted mores with regard to love and sexuality.
