Rat in the Skull
1984. A hardened RUC inspector is sent from Ireland to 'turn' an IRA bomber held by the British police. Their ensuing battle of wills holds a mirror to their country's agony, each convinced that he is the defender of his ancestors and upholder of 'the truth'. Despite the final violent climax, their ties of hate bind them in a bizarre solidarity, incomprehensible to the British officers.
Both lyrical and profane, Rat in the Skull is a passionate, uncompromising and viciously funny play.
