Passion Play
This skilful witty study of the strains of modern marriage and adultery was first presented by the RSC in 1981 and won the best play award for that year.
Michael Billington said in the Guardian in its revelatory honesty 'It is light years away from the standard adultery comedy and certainly sent this spectator out of the theatre shaken and more than a little stirred.'
Other critics have written 'Every line has the ring of horrible truth'; 'Passion Play is a savage comedy about love, sex and despair that is heart-rendingly funny'.
